least favorite and favorite flamingo

the flamingo on top is my least favorite of all the designs. The goal of it was to show an action and i wanted to show kicking a ball. Later, I actually turned the flamingo itself into a ball which i feel like does not work at all.

My favorite illustration is the high impact flamingo. I used the work of Roy Lichtenstine for inspiration. I feel like this image really does give one the comic book feel he created within his illustrations.

I decided on these three images for my final project because they are simple, yet eye catching.
My first object was a flamingo. It was difficult not to give the image a realistic feel, but a more simple modified symbolic feel. The second image, the small candle was alot easier to simplify. With such a simple image I was able to add some creativity with the image by adding some detail on the base of the candle. The final candle I was not too happy with. I believe it is too simple, but it still gets the point across of being a basic candle.

Symbols, weak and strong

The first symbol is hard to understand at first, I feel like it's only successful with text explaining it is a fish. Also, maybe a blue background would make the understanding more clear.

I believe this image of apples is a strong symbol because the apples are easily understood as apples they are not photorealistic, but rendered in a quick stroke style.

The illustration of the chicken is easy to understand, has the colors recognizable  with a chicken, and also shows a egg making one think of chickens which is why I feel this is a successful symbol.
